Proverbs 1:20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
Have you heard the latest news? Scientists claim they just found sugar in space! They think this will bring man closer to ‘understanding where life comes from’. That is what the experts say.
Have you heard the definition of an “expert”. An X is an unknown quantity and a spurt is a tiny bit of water under pressure.
In contrast to what the “scientists” are claiming, God says, wisdom is crying out. Do you really want to know where life comes from. You can pick up a King James Bible and read Genesis chapters 1& 2 and you will discover where life comes from. You can download a King James Bible onto your phone or computer for free and read. Thus for no money you can discover the truth. Instead we have been paying taxes through the nose for years to try to find out where life comes from. All that wasted time and money, and they are no closer to the truth than they were in the past.
Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets. You can go to a true, Bible-believing local church for free and listen to a Godly preacher tell you the truth. Jesus Christ came to this earth and He laid down His life and shed His blood so that you and I could be set free from the bondage of sin. Jesus Christ is:
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Do you really want to know the Truth?
In verse 21 we are told more about wisdom. The place of concourse is the place of loud noise. It cries aloud. So many people have earplugs in when it comes to the truth. They open their ears wide for the trash of the world, and they clamour for that because they do not want to believe the truth. God has made the truth so plain and so easy to see and yet so many are rejecting it.
Wisdom is in the openings of the gates. You walk through the gate and there it is. You enter the city and there it is. God blessed us with a building a few years ago. He gave that building to us to be used as a light in a dark world. After we bought that building, we heard one person say that the building should not be a church, it should be a business. That person was speaking as a fool speaks. There were others who did not want that building used as a church, but God overruled them all. The area we live in has a voice of wisdom that is available for all to come and hear the wisdom of God.
In verse 22, God asked a very important question. How long ye simple ones? God is not degrading anyone here. He is simply speaking the truth. The “simple ones” are those who are naive, and open-minded. So open minded that they reject the open truth.
The word “simplicity” is from the same Hebrew word as the word “simple”. There are people who are excited about the first words I wrote in this devotional. They are excited with the progress that “science” is making. No, science is not making progress. It is going backwards. Most scientists are in darkness. They are what God calls:
I Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
True science looks at facts. It does not run with imaginations and try to make the imaginations seem real without any facts. The whole evolutionary idea is lies. There is no evidence for the millions and billions of years. There is no evidence for the many lies as to the origins of the world and of life.
God further asked how long will the scorners delight in their scorning and fools hate knowledge? God loves man. He does not want man to waste time and energy chasing shadows. He wants man to know Him. That is why He laid it all out in Genesis 1&2. It is all right there. It takes maybe five or ten minutes to read those two chapters. It takes the new birth to lay hold on what God is saying there. God created it all. He made the sun, the moon, the stars. He created the energy that we use to send sound across the world without wires. Elon Musk has hundreds of satellites in space all functioning based on what God created as recorded in Genesis 1&2. He does not believe in God, but he is using what God created for his benefit. He is a very rich man in material terms. However, he is a fool in spiritual terms. There are thousands upon thousands more that are equal to him. They do not have his wealth, but they are all in the same category. They are simple ones, loving their simplicity. They cannot answer the important questions in life, but they can use the minerals and the other resources that God created to build bank accounts and gain the respect of other fools.
What they lack is the blessing of God. How about you? Do you believe in the true God? Are you born again? Are you saved? It is important not to waste your time chasing imaginary things. Believe the truth. Listen to God’s wisdom. Settle the fact that there is a true God and He loves you and He wants you to know Him. Serve Him and know His peace and His blessing.
