Our Beliefs

OUR VISION

To glorify God. All our activities are designed to help those who attend to know God’s forgiveness and blessing in their hearts. Matthew 28:18 - 20 is Jesus command to the local church and it is our desire to submit to God’s will and serve Him with our lives.

We believe God has preserved His word for all eternity. We believe God has communicated all the truth He wants us to know through His Word. We believe the King James Version is God’s Word to the English speaking world. It is translated from the Masoretic Hebrew and the Textus Receptus Greek. All other English translations are perversions of God’s truth. We do not believe that the King James Version should be used to translate the Bible into other languages. Translators should work from the same source as the KJV comes from in their translation work. Psalm 12:6,7; Psalm 119:89; Proverbs 30:5.

We believe there is only one true God, the God of the Bible. This God is the Creator of the heaven and the earth. He is also the Sustainer of His creation. We believe the true God is made up of what the Bible calls the Godhead. The Godhead consists of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. There are many false gods in our world. Any belief system that rejects any part of the Godhead is in fact a false religion. Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 45:5-6; Acts 17:29; Romans 1:20; Colossians 2:9; Matthew 28:19-20; I John 5:6-8.

We believe man was created on day six of the creation week. Man was created free from sin and in the image of God. Man has never been a god and never will be a god. We believe that man was created with a free will and that man chose to become a sinner. All of mankind is born in sin as descendants of Adam. The natural end of man is death and hell.

The Bible declares that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The Bible also declares: The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23). The Bible declares: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6). Man needs a Saviour and Jesus Christ is the only Saviour. There are many false religions that suggest other saviours but they are false. The Bible declares that when a person comes to God in repentance and believes on Jesus Christ alone for salvation, that person has everlasting life. They cannot lose their salvation because it was not theirs to lose. As Romans 6:23 tells us it is a gift of God which He graciously gives to those who look to Him alone for salvation. John 3:16; John5:24.

We believe the Church is to be the body of Christ. There are many places today that call themselves churches but they are nothing more than social clubs. The Bible does not teach a universal church on earth today. It teaches local churches in specific locales that have Jesus Christ as their head. A true Church must be ordained as such by God. It must clearly have Jesus Christ as Its’ head and must be governed solely by the Word of God. A true local Church must have a God ordained pastor – a man called of God to lead a local assembly in the Word of God. A true local Church is under the authority of Jesus Christ and has a man as its pastor. God does not accept woman leadership in the Church. A true local Church must understand the importance of Godly leadership. Godly leadership must be submissive to God’s Word and not the wishes of the people. The Bible teaches that the saints will stand before the judgment seat of Christ and be judged not as to their entrance into heaven, but rather as to their faithfulness while on this earth and thus the rewards they will receive in glory. Matthew 16:18; Revelation 2,3; Ephesians 4:11-16; II Corinthians 5:10.

The Bible teaches that the family was originated with God. The family unit did not develop due to some human “need”. Genesis 1:26-28 gives us the facts about the creation of man. Genesis 2:18-25 adds further detail to the creation of the man and the woman. The Bible teaches that the family is to be a patriarchal unit, headed up by the husband/father. This arrangement is built upon the fact that God is described in the Bible as being male, often referred to as “Father”. In Genesis 3 the devil came along and tried to turn things around and make the family unit a matriarchal unit, led by the wife/mother. Even though man fell and became a sinner, we see in Genesis 3 that God first addressed Adam, the man. Romans 5:12 tells us that the man, Adam, is responsible for bringing sin into the world, not Eve, the woman. God’s design for the family unit is a man and a woman who marry and then have children if God so blesses. We reject the modern idea that a “common-law” relationship is somehow the same as a marriage relationship. The Bible teaches that children are people from the moment of conception, not after some human being considers they might be human beings. The Bible further teaches that the taking of a life in the womb of the mother is murder, not an abortion. We believe that God expects a father and a mother to prayerfully raise their children for the glory of God, not for their own pleasure. Children are not an inconvenience but rather a blessing from God. Psalm 139:13-16; Exodus 21:22-25; Psalm 127:3.

The Bible teaches that marriage was instituted by God, not man.

Genesis 2:24, 25 “24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”

Over the years, most churches have yielded their God-given role as the officiators of marriage to the state. According to God’s Word it is not up to the state to give permission for a minister to officiate at a wedding. God has declared that a man is to leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife. God gave the leadership of the local church the responsibility of officiating at a wedding. We reject the suggestion that two men can be married and that it is an act of love. We also reject the suggestion that two women can be married and it is an act of love. Romans 1:18-32 clearly shows that this corruption of human relationships including marriage is the result of a rejection of God and it is a judgment of God upon wicked mankind.

The Bible teaches that in the last days men shall be lovers of their own selves. There is a greater rejection of God’s truth as we draw near the end of this age. The Bible declares that we as people cannot know the day of the Lord’s return. Date setting is forbidden by God and thus done in disobedience to His Word and will. The next major prophetic even to take place will be the taking up of the saints, known as the Rapture. This event will usher in a seven year Tribulation period during which time the anti-christ will rule and in the last half of this seven year period he will reveal who he really is and will set himself up as god and will turn against the nation of Israel and seek to destroy her. He will fail because God will not allow him to fulfil his evil plans. Following the seven year tribulation period will be the thousand year reign of Christ. The second coming of Christ is in two parts. At the Rapture He will ascend in the clouds and call the saints to meet Him in the air. At the end of the severn year tribulation period He will descend to the earth and cast the anti-christ and false prophet into the lake of fire and He will usher in the thousand year reign and rule upon this earth. During this time, the devil will be bound in the bottomless pit. At the end of this thousand year period the devil will be let loose and he will organize one final assault against the Lord Jesus Christ. The devil and his armies will fail in this attempt and the devil will be cast into the lake of fire and there will be a Great White Throne judgement where all the lost of all ages will be judged according to their works and will be found wanting and will thus be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity. The position described above is known as the Pre-Trib, Pre-Millennium position. II Timothy 3:1-5; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20:1-15.
