Proverbs 12:11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.
12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
16 A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.
Laziness is not a good thing. Just about every major city, and maybe even smaller places, have homeless people. Some of them are homeless because they do not want to submit to authority. Others are homeless because they cannot afford the high cost of living that our governments have invited into this country. Too many people are lazy and feel entitled. They do not want to work, but they will walk up and down the boulevards with a sign, lying about their situation.
God created man to work. Work is healthy for the body and the mind. Lazy people have too much time to imagine all kinds of things. The person that chooses vain people does so because he lacks understanding. When a person does not understand, he makes bad choices. It is not that people cannot understand. God has given us His Word. He has also given us sound churches. Most places that call themselves churches are not worth going to. Most people choose one of those places because they lack understanding. They lack understanding because they are not saved. We need God to give us wisdom. Understanding comes with wisdom.
The wicked are always looking for a way to draw others into their way of thinking. Our P.M. is using tax-payer funded propaganda outlets to deceive people into believing in him. He is a liar and a cheat. He has a huge red flashing light all around him, but most people cannot see it. It is very obvious that he does not care about people. He cares about himself and his wealth. He wants to draw others into his evil ways.
The root of the righteous will produce fruit. He will spend his time and energy on things that are true and right.
In verse 13 we see that the liar will be caught in his lies. His wicked heart cannot be honest. The longer the person lives in wickedness, the more wickedness becomes normal to him.
The just person is one who knows the Lord and deals in justice. He deals honestly. He is a person of integrity. He may not be materially rich, but he is one that can be trusted.
In verse 14 we see that the man that speaks truth will be satisfied with good. He has a good name. Daniel was a captive in Babylon as were his three friends. He developed a good name there because he put God first. The four of them set themselves apart to honour God. Because of that Daniel could interpret several dreams for the king. His three friends could also help Nebuchadnezzar to see that there is a God that was far greater than his golden image. God showed Nebuchadnezzar that his faith was in the wrong place. He was given the opportunity to see the need to know the true God.
In verse 15 we are reminded that the way of the fool is right in his own eyes. So many people judge their spiritual wellbeing according to their own imagination. They do not believe the Word of God. They pick and choose what they will listen to but they reject the clear, plain teaching of the Word of God.
God reminds us that the person who will hearken unto counsel is wise. This is again speaking of wise counsel. Don’t listen to the foolishness of our politicians or the teachers that should be teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic, but instead choose a socialist, woke agenda. It is a shame that so many parents are content to allow their children to be brainwashed, rather than properly educated.
In verse 16 we see further that the fool cannot control his emotions. If he is bothered by something, he makes that well known. We see this with the many people who protest the existence of Israel, or they speak against true Christianity.
The prudent person is the one who is sensible. The sensible person is the one who knows the Lord and walks in the fear of the Lord. He does not act in a way that brings shame. God does not want us to be ashamed because of our foolish actions. He wants us to have wisdom and do things that glorify Him. The world will hate the truth, but God loves the righteous.
