Isaiah 30:8 Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:
10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
11 Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
It needs to be made clear that Canada is being run by a P.M. who is essentially a dictator. He has his goons around him that are so power hungry and greedy that they are willing to go along with his methods in order to keep their cushy pay checks. The former P.M. was of the same ilk.
Our current P.M. lied to the Canadian people in declaring that he knew how to get a better trade deal with president Trump. Too many gullible Canadians believed his lies.
Essentially what our P.M. did was make a Canadian election a matter of the U.S. president. He talks of fighting for Canadian sovereignty but he is the primary person who is fretting about a man he has no control over. It does not matter who the president of the U.S. is. Canada is not a sovereign nation anyway. We are still under the thumb of the British monarchy. We have a governor general who is our mediator between us and Britain. We need the king’s permission to call an election and a few other things.
Since this current P.M. has been the supposed leader of this nation, he has done nothing to improve anything in this country. He has made groceries more expensive. He has driven a greater wedge between the U.S. and Canada. He has lied about the latest negotiations between Canada and the U.S. He refuses to show us the proposals of the U.S. However, the U.S. has given us enough detail that we know we have been lied to by our government.
We have no one in Parliament that is willing to call out the lies of this government. Politics in Canada is a complete sham and it is corrupt. The Bible warns us against putting our trust in man. The wise person listens to God. Obviously, there are few wise people in Canada.
This past week our P.M. flew to Alberta on the taxpayer’s money to make another announcement regarding a pipeline to the west coast. It should be clear that we cannot believe a word this man says, unless it is in attacking freedoms we once had. The information regarding this latest sham is that nothing will happen until at least next September. By that time, we will see further delays. It is clear that this P.M. does not want oil taken out of the ground. He is just trying to convince suckers in Alberta not to vote to pursue separation from Canada.
Alberta has been cheated by the east for many years. The government likes the money from the west, but does not want to respect the west. Low carbon oil is a ploy to entertain the gullible “climate change” kooks who are led by our P.M. and men like David Suzuki and others.
God directed Isaiah to address the spiritual problems in Israel in his day. Nothing has changed over the centuries. Most people still want to be lied to. They do not want to hear the truth. I saw a book title this week that speaks of: ‘Don’t talk to me about the war’.
Putting our heads in the sand does not make reality go away. Living in a fictional world might feel good, but reality is still there. When you go to the grocery store you still pay the high price of real groceries. When you go to the gas pumps, you still pay the high price of real gas and diesel. Your property taxes are still a real number. If you rent, your rent is still a real figure and it is not locked in concrete.
In our text, the nation of Israel was given the opportunity to repent and get back to where the blessings of God were real. However, they did not want to do that. They complained to God about how He was treating them. They liked the false prophets who were lying to them. They did not change for the better.
The good news is that in spite of the rebellion of the nation of Israel, God closed the book of Isaiah with a promise that things will one day be very different for Israel and the world. The reason for that is that God does not give up on His promises and He does not give up on His people.
God chose Abraham. He did not choose Abraham because he was such a good man. He chose him because He is God and He can do anything He wants to. The difference between God and man and all false religions, is that God is good and He wants to do good. He defines good.
God promised to bless Abraham and his descendants. He also promised to bless the world through Abraham. God has done that. He gave Abraham and his descendants, through Isaac, a parcel of land. He gave the world a Saviour — Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the ONLY Saviour of mankind. That will never change. There are many false religions that claim there are other saviours, but they are liars. Speaking smooth words does not help the soul, nor the mind, nor the body of man.
The reason Canada is in a mess and is going down is due to its rejection of God. Unless we submit to God’s rule, we are fools. We cannot make wise decisions. We have talked of the government in this devotional. The reason we have a failing government is because we have a government that despises God and has no room for any godly counsel. The majority of the citizens of Canada have also chosen to reject God.
Even king Nebuchadnezzar was brought to the place where he had to call in Daniel and Hananiah, and Mishael and Azariah. God forced his hand. God declared that Babylon would be the first of four major world empires. Canada is not a world empire. Canada is a minor player and it has chosen to become less and less significant because it has rejected God. True Christianity is definitely a minority in Canada. What is required in Canada is for those who are truly born again to repent and get back to walking in the fear of the Lord.
Psalm 127:1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
