Proverbs 14:28 In the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.
Jesus Christ is the ultimate King of the world. The wise men came to king Herod and asked where the king of the Jews was. Herod took this as a threat to his power. He failed to understand that he was not that important. He was given the opportunity to lead the Roman empire for a time. He failed miserably in his duty. He was a politician and he sought for ways to find agreement with the different factions that made up the Roman empire. One of those factions was the Jews.
The Jews were a different people. They were designed by God to be different. Over the years, since the time of Abraham, too many Jews had tried to fit in with the wicked world. They rejected the God Who founded them and sustained them as a nation, and they chose the paganism of the nations around them.
When Jesus Christ came to this earth, He came to minister and to give His life a ransom for many. He rode into Jerusalem shortly before His crucifixion and He accepted the worship and adoration of the people. The religious elite hated Him and they wanted Him to silence the crowds. They were powerful and they were able to convince the Jews to cry out “crucify Him” just a few days later.
Jesus Christ is still the King. He is unique and He will be glorified by all one day. The wicked will bow before Him as He sits on that great white throne. He will judge them and all will be found wanting. None will be redeemed at that throne. They squandered their opportunity for redemption. Millions will be there. Unlike now, not one of them will cry out and claim that Jesus is unjust. He will open the books and show them why they are there. None will be able to put up a defence against Him.
In contrast, those who appear at the judgement seat of Christ in heaven will be welcomed into heaven. There will be rewards given and rewards withheld. However, each one will be there because they trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation and to varying degrees, they walked with Him after salvation. Their degree of faithfulness after salvation will determine what reward they receive if any. There are many careless Christians today. There are many frauds as well, but there are careless Christians who will be saved though as by fire. It will be too late to change anything at that time.
It is wise to humbly submit to the Lord Jesus Christ now. As our text states, there are many people who are wanting today. God directed David to write:
Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
The true child of God finds all that he needs in the LORD. On earth there are many people wanting. Canada has a huge welfare segment. Then there are the majority of the natives who are very discontented with their lot. What they do not realize is that they have chosen their emptiness due to their pagan beliefs. The natives could take over the entirety of Canada and they would not be happy. Prior to the Europeans coming here, the natives fought amongst themselves. Thousands of them starved to death due to their pagan culture. Yet somehow, they have managed to convince too many European Canadians that it is our fault for the difficulties within the native population. As we have noted before, many of the first Europeans did not treat the natives with respect. They took advantage of the weakness that is inherent in man. They offered them liquor and trinkets and they deceived them.
Even Noah was deceived by liquor. He brought shame upon himself and his family. Achan could not leave the shiny things alone when Israel took Jericho. He stole a Babylonish garment and silver and gold and then hid that in his tent. He was a fool, but he is not alone in that.
Jesus Christ is the King and if you want peace in your heart and life, you need to know Him as your King. You can be a fool and take men like our P.M. as your king, but you will find that this man is a thief and a robber. He is of the devil. He is a liar. He does not know how to speak the truth. It is a shame that so many are willing to believe him and reject the King of kings. The day will come when justice will be done.
France is finding out what happens when you accept a fool as your leader. That nation is being destroyed by Muslims right now. Islam is not a religion of peace. It is a wicked religion/philosophy that has destruction as its goal. It follows the devil. The reason the Muslims cause trouble wherever they go is because their religion is so empty. It cannot satisfy the longing of their hearts. The promise of seventy virgins after death will never satisfy any man. Satisfaction only comes from knowing the true King.
There is nothing good in Islam. A few people are waking up to that reality, but too many are still willing to accept the lie of a moderate Muslim. There is no such thing.
The wise person chooses to submit to the true King today. That is where contentment is found. Be sure you are submitted to Him today and every day. Begin your day with Him and seek His counsel throughout the day. His Word is the primary place of counsel. Godly men, chosen of God are given to every generation to help men and women and children to understand God’s Word properly.
When you surrender to the true King, you will find satisfaction in your heart and soul. As long as you fight against the truth, you will find discontentment and frustration. It is your choice. The wise person chooses life.
