A Decree That Must Be Kept

A Decree That Must Be Kept

Esther 9:29  Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority, to confirm this second letter of Purim.
30  And he sent the letters unto all the Jews, to the hundred twenty and seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, with words of peace and truth,
31  To confirm these days of Purim in their times appointed, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had enjoined them, and as they had decreed for themselves and for their seed, the matters of the fastings and their cry.
32  And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book.

We are currently looking at a situation in Canada that is not very stable. The security so many have depended upon is crumbling. We have had careless, globalist leadership over the past 9+ years with a “woke” P.M. and cabinet. We are currently faced with a new ‘big brother’ to the south who is not concerned about what we think. It is interesting to listen to how many people want to point fingers at Mr. Trump, rather than look at the massive problem facing our own country. Passing the buck does not fix the problem. We have often mentioned that the biggest problem facing our country is the moral bankruptcy which is the result of the rejection of the true God.
The Bible shows us that world empires grew to be big and powerful, but all of a sudden they fell. The basic philosophy of the world empires has carried on throughout the different empires, but their names have changed. The current situation Canada is facing will affect the common people as well as the elites. Our leaders boast of their plans, but in reality they are submitted to the whims of the WEF and the “one world” agenda. The media is a propaganda machine that willingly promotes the evil of the one worlders.
As we look at the book of Esther, we see an empire in turmoil as well. One man stirred the pot in a major way. Haman’s hatred for the Jews caused a major shift in the status quo of that empire. The king did not care about human life. His only interest in the Jews was that of his ungodly marriage to a Jew named Esther. He had allowed the Jews to counter Haman’s evil plot, which he had endorsed. He had not thought through the consequences of allowing one man’s hatred to erode the peaceful nature of his empire. His advisors were of no help to him. His only solution to this grave error in judgment was to grant the Jews special permission to go on the attack and take out anyone they suspected of hating them. Suspicions were aroused and the passive nature of the kingdom was shattered.
From this point on, there would be a yearly reminder to the entire empire, of the conflict that the Jews gained the upper hand in. The Jews had been brought into Babylon as captives. They were there at the mercy of the Babylonian kings. When Babylon was conquered by the Medes and the Persians, they assimilated the Jewish captives into their kingdom. For the most part, the Jewish captives had assimilated into the secular culture of their captors. Very few of the Jews that were taken captive, lived in the fear of the LORD. We know that Daniel and his three friends honoured God. They had an impact over the leadership of two empires. However, at the time of king Ahasuerus, that impact seemed to have disappeared. Daniel and his three friends had not been a failure. They were humble and obedient servants of God. They were in a minority. Others did not seem to appreciate them and their influence waned after they were gone.
We see a similar situation earlier in history with Joseph. He had a huge impact on the Egyptian society during his lifetime. However, after he died, his influence was forgotten. The majority of the Jews that lived in Egypt at that time, did not share the godly convictions that Joseph had. They were not able to show the new Pharaoh that they were not a threat to his kingdom.
In our current study of the book of Hebrews, God warned of the danger of letting the truth slip out of our hands and hearts. The truth is not weakened. The problem is when we are no longer convinced of the truth. We warned of the poison that the recent MissionFest is to our province. That poison is moving across Canada as this organization sets up meetings in different provinces. The bulk of “Christianity” sees no problem with that organization, They see a problem with people like myself warning about the danger we are in.
God has not changed. He is still holy and His Word is still absolute. Every born again Christian needs to take the challenge of Joshua seriously:

Joshua 24:15  And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Joshua had good intentions, and he wrote these words under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. God told him to write them. However, he could only deal with his own heart and soul. He could set a godly example for his family, but each one of them would need to choose whether they would serve the LORD. That is true today as well. We, those who are fathers, need to choose to give God His rightful place in our hearts and lives. We must walk humbly with the LORD and allow Him to direct our every step. We cannot accept the compromise that dominates the majority of what is called Christianity.
In our opening verses, we see that Esther and Mordecai wrote with all authority. They had the full blessing of the king on this matter. Purim was now an established feast. It was now something that would be adhered to every year. It would be a time of celebration. As we can see through history, the commemoration of this event has not made life any better for the Jews. Their enemies are as vile as ever. The last three hostages that were released had been starved and tortured during their captivity. Hamas tried to counter the exposure of their cruelty to these three men, by showing a picture of what they claimed was an Hamas terrorist who was released from Israeli captivity who also looked emaciated. The problem is their picture was not of a captive, but rather of a cancer patient who was in very poor shape. Hamas is known for lying, but the mainstream media is equally known for lying. As we mentioned, they are a propaganda machine, funded up until now by taxpayer dollars through organizations like USAID and the Canadian government.
Esther and Mordecai are recorded in this book. Their rise to positions of power is documented by God. Their influence over a wicked king is also documented. The problem we have noted since the beginning of this book, is that God is never mentioned in the entire book. If the book of Esther were to stand alone, there would be no indicator of God at all. God put this book into His larger book — the Bible. We can see the hand of God at work to protect His people from being destroyed. We can see the faithfulness of God to Himself. He made a promise to Abraham and repeated that promise to Isaac and to Jacob and to every generation of Jews. He would protect them from being destroyed.
Even while Hitler, the Catholics, and the Muslims were trying to destroy the Jews, God did not allow that to happen. After Israel was given back a portion of their land and they moved back to that land, Britain and her allies backed away from Israel and allowed the nearer enemies of the Jews to attack that fledgling nation and threaten to destroy the Jews. God miraculously stopped the invading armies from being able to destroy the Jews. There are Egyptian tanks sitting in the deserts of the land of Israel to this day. They were stopped by God from being able to advance further into Israel. From what I have read, there was no reason why they should not have been able to roll on through Israel, but they stopped. It was not that Egypt surrendered. It was that God stopped those tanks from moving another inch.
God has been making Himself known to the Jews and to the world through the centuries. It is a command of God, but also a privilege from God to be able to be a voice of truth in a world that is not interested in truth.
Those who are saved have a much more important message than a letter of Purim. We know the Prince of Peace and we know the promise of forgiveness of sins and of eternal life. That message needs to go out loud and clear in the midst of the massive machine that is corrupting the truth. If we are not aligned with God, we will not be heard. We will not be able to impact our generation with the most important message for our time. We need to be sure we know that message of God’s salvation and then we need to be careful not to let that message slip out of our hands.
That message will never be lost. God will see to that. We, those who are truly saved, are called to proclaim that message with the purity that It deserves. We need godly convictions that we will not accept any compromise of that message. We will commit ourselves to giving a clear message of hope and truth in this age in which we live. Are you committed to that message?
