Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Jude’s concluding message was one of hope and of blessing for those who are saved. The hope of the child of God is not found in self or in any other person. The hope of the child of God is found in knowing and trusting in the Almighty God. Only God is able to keep a person from falling. Only Jesus Christ can present a person faultless before Almighty God. No sin can enter heaven. Yet every saved person will sin. Those who claim they do not sin, make God a liar. John warned that those who take that position do not have the truth in them.
It is important to believe God. It does not help anyone to entertain false teaching. Those who are saved do not demonstrate the love of God in accepting the false teaching that is so common in our world today.
The apostle Paul was confident that there was a crown of righteousness awaiting him in glory. He was also confident that crown was there for all those who love Jesus Christ’s appearing. Those who love His appearing are those who are serving Him faithfully. Those who are trying to keep one foot in the world and one foot in serving God will not be excited about meeting Jesus Christ. They know they have not been faithful to Him.
Peter was discouraged after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He knew he had sinned against his Saviour. He led the disciples back to fishing. Jesus met them as they were fishing. He asked them if they had any fish. They did not have any success. Jesus told them what to do to catch fish. When Peter was told that it was Jesus, he left the fish and the nets and swam and ran to meet Jesus. He wanted to be restored. He knew Jesus was merciful and that He would forgive him. By Jesus’ presence there, and by His actions, he knew that there was hope for him.
Notice as well that Jesus wants to present the saints before His Father with exceeding joy. Paul wrote about the plan that Jesus has for His saints in Ephesians 5. In Hebrews 12 Paul wrote of the suffering that Jesus had endured. He wrote that Jesus looked beyond that suffering because He knew the joy that would be there due to the salvation of souls. That salvation is more than just fire insurance. It is a glorious life now and into eternity.
Jesus Christ laid down His life so that His sheep would have life and that they might have it more abundantly. Jesus Christ is not short of blessings. He wants to bless every one of His sheep with great blessings. He wants every one of His sheep to bring forth fruit that remains. He knows that all of His sheep are capable of bringing forth much fruit. He is the One Who works in and through His saints to bless them with fruit that remains.
In verse 25 Jude is directed to speak of God as the only wise God. There is no other true God. There are many false gods. They are not wise. When you listen to the teachings of the false religions, they certainly are not wise. They are fallible and full of contradictions. The devil would like to suggest that there are no absolutes. However, the fact is the devil is a liar and should not be listened to. The true God knows the beginning from the end. He knows how to direct His children so they do not fall.
Notice as well that God is “our Saviour”. This is again in agreement with other Scriptures. Jesus declared that:
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
Jesus Christ became flesh. Jesus Christ died on the cross. Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Jesus Christ is the mediator between God and man. However, the Godhead is three persons in one. John 1:3 states
John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Genesis 1:1 states:
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Jesus Christ is the second person of the Godhead. Unlike human beings, there is a unique oneness in the Godhead. Those who want to separate out God the Father from God the Son and want to claim to believe in God the Father but not in God the Son, do not believe in the true God. They have a false god. The Godhead did not die on the cross. Each person of the Godhead has specific work to do. As the second person of the Godhead, Jesus was able to go to the cross and die there and shed His blood for the remission of sin. He is the Saviour because He not only died, but He also rose again. A dead Saviour is no Saviour at all.
This true God is worthy of glory and majesty. He alone is worthy of worship. There was a mayor who recently stated that they did not want to be called “your worship”. No mayor is worthy of that title. They have an important role to fill, but they are not worthy of worship.
Revelation 22:8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
The true God is worthy of glory and majesty. He is also worthy of dominion and power. There are people in our world who assume to be all powerful. They think they can do as they please and they expect others to bow before them. Our PM is such a person. He has been groomed by men like Castro and XiPing. He does expect his henchmen to fall in line with him. Sadly, they are more than willing to do that. They have been bought off by the likes of Klaus Schwab. They are power hungry and greedy people. It seems they will stop at almost nothing to gain further control. They do not understand that their power is very limited. God is giving them some opportunity to flex their muscles now. They need to understand that they are accountable to Him for their actions. Unless they get saved, their judgment will be severe and it will be swift. They will not find any counsel to find them a way out of that judgment. If they reject the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord, they will face Him as their Judge.
This true God is eternal. Glory and majesty, dominion and power are His both now and ever. God will never grow weak. Jesus Christ will never be a weakened Saviour. The apostle Paul could say:
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
True Christians can still make that same claim today. The context is important there as always. All things refers to all things that please God. It does not refer to the frivolous things of this life. There are limitations that we have as people. However, those who are saved can serve God faithfully. They can reject all temptation and they can walk away from their sinful past. They do not need drugs to do so. They need to be saved and God will enable them to serve Him faithfully.
Be careful who you believe and who you follow. If you are saved, follow the truth. Don’t be deceived by smooth talkers. If you are lost, you are in big trouble. I spoke with a man yesterday who did not like a God who would judge someone and send them to hell. He wanted an all inclusive god who sees value in many different belief systems. He can imagine that all he wants. The fact is that a loving God cannot accept all beliefs. A loving and true God knows there is a body of truth and He also knows that anything that is contrary to the truth is a lie. He is very longsuffering and He provides all the truth needed for the lost person to be saved. Those who reject the truth will face His wrath. Choose life and know God’s peace and blessings.
