Proverbs 7:6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:
10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.
15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.
Windows are important things to have. We just replaced a few in our house. One of them was right by the chair I like to sit in at times. The previous window was very drafty and too high up for me to see anything while sitting there. When we changed that window, we put in a longer window so that I can see out of it when sitting in that chair. It allows me to look into our back yard. I can see our garden and the grass. We have quite a few birds at certain times and it is interesting to observe them.
In our text, the writer talked of looking out of his window. He saw the simple ones. The simple ones are the naive and foolish type. The writer continued to describe them as youths, void of understanding. Young people need time to learn and to grasp what is going on. Occasionally there is a younger person with exceptional perception. Solomon was such a man. The reason he was so wise is because God gave him that wisdom.
Oftentimes young people can be quite cocky but they lack the understanding to see the danger of what is before them. They are too attuned to fun and not enough to the consequences of frivolity. Especially when it comes to the matter of the strange woman.
In verse 8 the writer describes the actions of this young man. He foolishly passes right near the house of the strange woman. He is so naive. He thinks he can look and maybe even do some touching, and not get burnt. He was like the bull being led to the slaughter. He does not comprehend what is ahead.
Verse 9 tells us the conditions are right for this sneaky rendezvous. It is dark and thus no one will see what is taking place. Interestingly, as he is sneaking around, there just so happens to be a woman with the attire of an harlot. There are far too many women today dressed like harlots. Not all of them want to be classified as harlots, but they dress like them. This woman is also subtil of heart. She has a plan. She is prepared to lure this “sucker” in.
Verse 11 tells us she is loud and stubborn. She is not going to listen to wise counsel. She is into having a “good time”. No one can keep her locked up in her house. She heads out into the streets, just watching and waiting for the next foolish man to come along. Wouldn’t you know it, she finds one as well. She knows where to go and she knows there are many fish in the pond to hook. She is ready to pounce.
She knows exactly how to break the man down. The simple man loves to have a woman on his arm. He loves to have a woman pay “special” attention to him. She catches him and she kisses him. His heart begins to race and his emotions are all over the place. The last thing he wants to do is think this thing through and think about the sound wisdom his father gave him. What could possibly be better than what he is experiencing? He wants more of this.
This woman knows just what to say to this foolish man. She has just what they need at her house. She is very persuasive with her words and her looks. He is smitten. He is in a trap, but he does not yet realize that it is his ruin.
This woman tells this gullible man that she has payed her vows. She is ready for action. She is making this gullible man seem so very important. Everything is just clicking right into place. She has been carefully looking just for him. He does not see her as a harlot. She is waiting just for him! Surprise, surprise, she found him. Isn’t he just so fortunate. Everything is working out. Of course he has been looking to experience what he has been imagining. Surely it will turn out just as good if not better than he assumes.
The Muslims promise their men 70 virgins in their “paradise” if they die as martyrs. The Muslim men are so vain, that they believe that lie. There are a lot of non Muslims who are just as vain. I read a report from a young Canadian reporter who was interviewing a Muslim Imam. This Imam was talking about an open house that the Muslims were holding for others to come and visit his mosque. He was using subtlety but the reporter was ready to believe every lie that Imam could tell. He was so gullible.
Muslims are not like Mennonites or Anglicans or other false religions. Islam is more than just a religion. It is an entire philosophy. That philosophy is contrary to Western thinking. It is aligned with Catholicism. It is designed to take control of every aspect of life by force. When they get enough people on their side, they pounce. The gullible never know what hit them. They thought they were being so open minded and yet they were signing their death warrant.
I know our country would like to nail people like me as Islamophobes. That is a made up word that sounds scary and must mean I am a very bad person. We already have Regina police sold out to the Muslims. They will do the same anywhere they can. They do not believe in live and let live. They believe in do as we say or else. The or else is death by cruel torture.
In our text, the strange woman is a very real danger. Many a man has been trapped by her. Many a man has ruined their life by yielding to the lust of the flesh. Men cannot blame the strange woman. They choose that path. The strange woman is ready to grab any man who is a fool.
In the same way, the Muslims are ready to grab anyone who is a fool. A true Christian would never fall for their lies. But the ungodly have no foundation. They have no anchor. Many are tired of the sham of New Evangelicalism. They are desperate so why not try Islam. It is a strong trap that is very difficult to escape. It leads straight to hell.
Today is the Lord’s Day. The wise father, mother, son, daughter will go to a true local church where they can hear the Truth. Many foolish fathers, mothers, sons and daughters will flock to some New Evangelical house of entertainment. They will be lulled further to sleep. Some will even go to a Mosque to be lied to.
I hope each one reading this will have enough sense to go to a true, local church. That is where you need to be.
