Proverbs 15:7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
It is important to be able to disperse knowledge. I heard a “professor” recently talk of the importance of university. The universities of today are cesspools for indoctrination in socialism. They are propaganda machines. The problem is that the professors are ungodly people and thus they do not know what knowledge is.
Let us consider science. The Bible warns:
I Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
Evolution is the foundation of modern day science. Evolution is a lie. It is science falsely so called. Then we have the foolishness of “mother nature”. There is no such a thing. My wife was talking to a woman this past week who wanted to acknowledge “mother nature” as the one responsible for the weather. My wife reminded her that it is God Who is responsible for the weather.
We could look at health issues. We need doctors. They can be very helpful. Most doctors and nurses are trained to see that wonderful baby in the womb as a “fetus”. They are trained to see that God-given gift as an animal for a time and then possibly becoming a human being at some point.
The lips of the wise disperse knowledge. The contrast is that the heart of the foolish do not do that. That is true of the professors who teach lies. God created man with the ability to think and to reason. It takes a real fool to believe in evolution and to believe that something that begins inside a human being could go through a fish stage and an animal stage before becoming a human being. There are many other examples that could be used to expose the fool. It is important to walk in the fear of the LORD.
In verse 8 we see that even when the wicked think they are sacrificing, it is an abomination to the LORD. Cain wanted to bring something he had grown to the LORD. The LORD said no. Cain further proved his wickedness in his response to the LORD. He refused to listen and went out and murdered his brother.
Since that time there have been millions of people who have sacrificed while still being wicked. The rich put bags of money into the treasury during Jesus’ time on earth. A widow woman put in a much smaller offering, but Jesus saw that as a real sacrifice. The rich gave of their abundance. What they gave would not hurt them at all. The widow gave of what she could well have used to feed herself. God looked after her. The rich did not look to God for help. They thought they were self-sufficient.
We see in verse 8 that prayer is a delight to God when it comes from the upright. There are thousands of people who claim to pray to God, when they do not even know Him. The upright person is the one who has trusted in the Lord for salvation and is walking in humility with Him. The proud and self-made person who imagines their own god, is not upright.
There are thousands of ‘prayers’ that go no further than their sound can carry. They certainly never make it to the throne of grace. That is not my judgment. That is according to God’s Word.
In verse 9 God continued to warn of the wicked. The way they have chosen is an abomination to the LORD. Jesus called that way the “broad way”. That way leads to destruction. Most people are content to be on that way.
God did not create man to be wicked. Adam chose wickedness. God provided the only way for Adam and all others to be forgiven and saved. That way is through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ means submitting to His will.
In the secular world, the boss tells the employee what to do, not the other way around. In the corrupt union world, the employees think they can tell the boss what to do. In the corrupt world, nations like France, are being destroyed by Islamic ideology. The ungodly have no way of stopping evil from abounding.
In the spiritual world, the Saviour and Lord sets the terms of salvation as well as the way that the saved must walk. The sinner does not tell the Lord Jesus Christ the way of salvation, nor the way to walk. The sinner needs to come to God in repentance and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. There is no hope outside of knowing the true God and Saviour.
Today is the Lord’s day. It is the day in which you and I can prove who we are following. Those who truly know the Lord will seek to attend a true, Bible-believing church. Those who have their own lord, will choose one of many religious houses of entertainment.
If you want to be a delight to the LORD, you need to submit to His authority. Jesus told Nicodemus “ye must be born again”. That has never changed. We are praying that many would truly be born again in these last days. It is a blessing to know God’s forgiveness and be able to walk with Him.
