Be Wise Now

Be Wise Now

Psalm 2:1  Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2  The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3  Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4  He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5  Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6  Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7  I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8  Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9  Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
10  Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11  Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

This week marks the beginning of an inquiry into the use of the Emergency Measures Act, of this past winter. It will be a process that will be very expensive for the taxpayers. It is supposed to be an event that allows the country to examine the actions of the government regarding a certain event. We know what that event was.
I have stated before that Christians will not gain anything by being involved in public protests. There are people who profess to be Christians that were involved in the protests that took place this past winter. Most of those “Christians” are “Christian” in name only. The atmosphere of those protests, while peaceful, was not godly. It might be the atmosphere that is found in many churches today, but it is not the atmosphere that we find taught in the Bible.
There is no doubt in my mind that the government took a heavy handed approach to those protests. We know we have a PM who loves the Chinese dictatorship. He has stated that publicly. We also know the WEF had planned the events of the past two years prior to implementing them. We also know through the facts that have come out, that there never was a public health emergency. We also know that the shots were not ever tested as to whether they would stop the spread of the “virus”. We know that they have not stopped the spread, and we know that they have caused many unnecessary deaths and many long term injuries to thousands of people. We know that child-bearing age women have been harmed by these shots.
We have observed over many years that the governments of all stripes are extremely corrupt. Some of them have said some nice things in the past. Some of them have been used by God to slow down the devil’s agenda to bring in a one world system. We also know that God has told us before hand that there will be a one world system that will be run by the anti-christ. The Bible also tells us that the timing of this corrupt and wicked system will be under God’s timing, not man’s.
God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. God wants people to be saved. Hell was not designed for man. It was designed for the devil and his angels. Sadly there will be many thousands of people who will join the devil in the lake of fire one day. They will spend all of eternity in that place. That is not a fictitious place that can be interpreted any way that man chooses. The Bible is clear that the lake of fire is a place of torment. It is a place that has no exit. In this life there is an exit.

Hebrews 9:27  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28  So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

The Bible gives us many warnings of the fact that man is accountable to God. The Bible also reminds us over and over again, that Jesus Christ came to take the punishment that man deserves, upon Himself. He went to the cross to pay the penalty of sin. He did not remain on that cross. He rose again, victorious over sin and death and is seated on the right hand of His Father today. No one will be able to accuse God of being unfair on judgment day.
It is certainly possible to accuse our government of being unfair. They are extremely corrupt, similar to the government of Paul’s day or even of Daniel’s day. Corrupt government is to be expected when God is not given His rightful place.

John 8:44  Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

The wicked are influenced by the devil. The devil is a murderer from the beginning. Thus it is to be expected that his followers will also be evil people. Not all lost people go to the same extent of wickedness, but all are evil.
We have noted in our opening verses that the heathen rage against the Lord. We have seen this for many years now, but it has been magnified over the past 2+ years. I do not expect this to change until the Lord Jesus comes back and sets things in order. We have no one at the government level, whether federally or provincially, or even at the municipal level that is seeking to glorify God. We have corruption at all levels. I believe God will continue to use lost people to hold back the evil plot of the devil. God tells us He will do that.
Even during the time of the anti-christ, God will still be limiting the wicked designs of that man. The devil does not have free reign over the world. He has been given some opportunity to act in wickedness. God reveals that to us in the book of Job. II Corinthians 4:4 tells us that he has been given the title: “god of this world”. He is the small “g” god. He is limited by God. God has made it possible for people to be saved even in the darkest hour of this earth. Even during the Tribulation time, there will be some who will be saved. They will suffer much greater persecution during that time than at any other time in the history of the world. However, there will be people who will be saved.
For those who are saved today, we need to look at men like the apostle Paul to understand how to live in a wicked world, under a wicked government. We are not called to try to influence the lost to fight against a wicked government. We are called to live godly lives that exalt the King of kings. When we do that, we can help others to see the importance of turning to the true God in salvation. That is the great need of man today.
For too long, too many churches have been asleep. Social justice has been the focus of too many religions. The Bible tells us that we are in a war. It is a war that has an enemy that is out for blood. It is a war that has a Saviour and Commander Who shed His blood so that all can be forgiven and saved. It is a war that has already been won by the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who are saved are on the winning side. We have a task to fulfil. That task is to be a light in a dark and dying world. We do not want to see the heathen rage, but we must understand that the raging can only be stopped through salvation. It is not going to be stopped in the courts.

Romans 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Those that are saved may be tempted to join some earthly movement that seems to hold promise. As the saints get into God’s Word they will see that no earthly movement holds promise. The promise is in the Word of God.
Those that are lost need to be reminded Who the true authority is. They need to be shown that the God of Creation is real and that He is in charge today. Too many professing Christians live in defiance of this fact today. They are not interested in separating from evil, nor are they interested in marking and avoiding false teachers. They want to find some hope in false teachers.
Let us take God at His Word and glorify Him as the apostle Paul did. Let us encourage others to do the same.
