Hold Fast To The Truth

Hold Fast To The Truth

Job 27:1  Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,
2  As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;
3  All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
4  My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
5  God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.
6  My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

In this chapter, God tells us that Job was speaking with parables. The Hebrew word translated as “parables” has the sense of “sentences of ethical wisdom”. Job was directed by God to speak truth about God. It was certainly ethical wisdom. The same cannot be said for his three friends.
In the first 6 verses Job continued his declaration that his concern was with God. These men would never be able to answer his concern. Job was rather tired of their false theology. He would keep reminding them that they were wasting their time with their “help”.
Job promised that as long as he would live, he had no desire nor intent to speak wickedness. He was not interested in lying to anyone and not even to himself. The accusations being made against him were baseless and they were intended to destroy, not to help.
In verse 5 he stated that he would never justify these men. He was suffering through events that he did not yet know the cause of. God told us what was going on in chapters 1&2, but Job did not know yet what was happening to him. He assumed that God was chastening him for something, but he did not know what. We know from God’s Word that when He chastens one of His children, they know what is going on. The Holy Spirit has already been convincing the person of their sin, but they have not wanted to deal with it.
David wrote of this with regard to his “secret” sin with Bathsheba. He tried to hide it for 9 months, but the entire time, he knew he had committed several sins. God eventually sent the prophet Nathan to confront David. God’s desire is for His child to walk in obedience with Him, and to know His peace and blessings. He is willing and able to forgive His errant and repentant child.
Job was struggling but it was not God that was causing his trouble. Satan was the attacker. He was seeking to destroy Job and God. He failed on both counts, but Jesus Christ described him as a murderer and a liar from the beginning. He will continue to be the accuser of the brethren until he is finally cast into the lake of fire. The true child of God needs to draw nigh to God and walk humbly with Him, and trust Him to be glorified in our lives.
In verse 6 Job stated that he would hold fast to his righteousness. It would be pointless for him to agree to committing some sin just because these men wanted him to do so. That would have been lying. Job was willing to admit to sin, if God would show him what it was. He was not willing to commit to sin he had not committed. That would be extremely foolish and he was not interested in that.
We read of police officers who manage to gain a confession to a crime from a suspect, even though the suspect did not commit the crime. The investigators have a way of framing questions and making accusations that can break the person down. They cause the person to doubt their own facts and accept the suggestions of others. If a person is grounded in the truth, they do not need to accept a lie.
We have been witness to an event that shows us that we are living in a time when evil is called good and good is called evil. We have been threatened with consequences for spreading “misinformation and disinformation” which is really lies. Meanwhile, those who are lying are being protected and praised for their lies.
We know that too many people believed the lies being told over the past three years regarding the Wuhan virus. There is no doubt that some people died from the virus. There is no doubt that people got sick from the virus. We will never know how many because there were so many lies around the diagnoses given. The PCR tests were faulty and could not be trusted at all. People that died of cancer or even in car crashes were pronounced dead from the virus. Then we were lied to about the efficacy of the shots and many people were too afraid of dying so they took the shots. Some of those people died from the shots, and others have been severely harmed, but the media and most doctors and nurses and government officials refuse to acknowledge the facts. They turned science into a bad joke by claiming that the science proved that masking and social distancing, etc. was the most effective way of avoiding the spread of this virus. They also stated that the shots were safe and effective. They knew this was all a lie but they spread it anyway. To this day, they are still trying to push this lie. They really think we are uninformed and gullible. Sadly, too many people are just that.
We do not need to believe these lies. We know that all of this was a dressed rehearsal for the time of the antichrist. The Bible warns us that those who enter the Tribulation will be lost people. At the midpoint of the Tribulation, the antichrist will declare himself to be God and he will demand that all people take his mark. He will enforce this demand by telling people they will not be able to buy nor sell without taking his mark. He will have his goons to enforce this evil mandate.
During this dressed rehearsal, no one was forced to take the shot. Some people were forced to quarantine under certain conditions. However, those people chose to put themselves in a vulnerable position by doing things that would give the officials fuel for their evil plot. Travel restrictions were really no threat. So what if we cannot travel out of country. So what if we cannot go to a restaurant. We have grown so accustomed to doing certain things, that we assume we cannot live without them. Worse times are coming. For those who caved in to these threats, there is more coming. For those who understood the plot and did not bow, good for you. However, if you did not bow, but are not saved, you will eventually be broken by some evil plot. Your resistance will not hold up. Only those who trust in the true God can stand up to the tyrannical onslaught of evil. Some may be imprisoned. Some may be killed. However, those who are saved are truly free. We have been set free by a loving God Who provided salvation for the soul and has prepared a home in heaven for each and every saint. The day when we will go to that heavenly home is closer than we realize. It will come suddenly, but it should not be a surprise to those who are saved.
One of the saddest parts of this past three years has been from pastors who should be seeking truth, but have accepted the lies and promoted them to their people. Pastors can make mistakes. They can be wrong. However, pastors need to walk humbly with God and God gave us enough information in the early weeks of this event to know that things were not right. We could walk with humility and with caution and develop our plans based on facts. This event was certainly not the emergency that the media and others tried to make it.
In the meantime, let us build up our faith in the true God. Let us walk humbly and truly with Him. As we do that we can help others who are fearful, to come to know the truth and trust in the true God as well. He knows what He is doing. The devil has a plan, but his plan will fail. God has a plan and His plan will succeed. Be sure to be on the right side. Job was sure he was on the right side. He had some questions. He was confused about certain things. However, he knew he was on the right side and he was not going to let these false teachers turn him aside. Actually, it was his faith in God that kept him from falling before these false professors.
