Hope That Works

Proverbs 10:28  The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29  The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
30  The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
31  The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
32  The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.

The hope of the righteous is not a wishful thinking. The hope is a living hope that is based on trust in the God Who cannot lie. The righteous person will not be disappointed now nor in eternity. The Bible gives us a brief account of heaven. The reality of heaven will be such a pleasant surprise for those who are saved. Of course, the lost will never see that.
The wicked think they will end up in a good place. They have followed the imaginations of their false religion and they will be shocked to discover too late that they will be in hell. It is a shame that so few want to listen to the truth.
In verse 29 we see that the ones who benefit from the LORD’s way are the upright. The wicked refuse to see the blessing of the LORD’ s way. They would rather keep the blindfold on and foolishly follow their heart.
The workers of iniquity will face destruction. It is sad that so many people work so hard and yet will have nothing to show for it. All the fancy houses, and the expensive holidays, etc. but yet their end will be destruction.
Jesus promised the disciples that there are mansions in heaven. I know the perversions change that to “rooms”, but when you read the description of heaven given in the book of the Revelation, it sounds like more than just rooms. It will not matter because the saints will have their eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ. He is what heaven is all about.
In verse 30 we are reminded that the righteous have eternal life based on an eternal promise from the God Who cannot lie. Some of the cults look at this verse and argue that their imaginary saints will never leave this earth. The text does not say this earth, it talks of the earth.

II Peter 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

This present earth is under God’s curse. God is giving us the opportunity of living and prospering on this earth, but it is nothing like what Adam knew prior to the fall. It is also nothing like what the new heavens and the new earth will be like.
The wicked will have no part in that new earth. They will be in torment in the lake of fire. It is a pleasant thing to have a nice yard. We like flowers in our yard. God blessed man with many different types of flowers. There are annuals and perennials. All of this will be destroyed one day. The new heavens and the new earth will be much more beautiful than anything we might manufacture here on this earth. The lost might have a beautiful yard here, but they will end up in the lake of fire, while the saints can have a beautiful yard here and also enjoy the blessings of the new heavens and the new earth.
The just person knows how to speak truth. His mouth brings forth wisdom because he either quotes directly from the sure Word of God, or he references the sure Word of God in his discussions. Secular arguments might sound impressive but they do not mean anything. We have men who can wax eloquently but even though they get some people to applaud them for their words, nothing good comes of it.
The few who listen to God’s Word benefit greatly from doing so. The froward tongue is the perverse tongue. The perverse tongue is the unreasonable tongue.
God says the tongue of the froward will be cut out. The Catholics would cut the tongue out of some of the saints as they would lead them to the stake for burning. They did not want to hear anyone speak the truth. The Catholics had perverse tongues and they cut out the tongues of those who spoke the truth.
Our government thinks it is more sophisticated and we have “human rights tribunals” that try to silence those who speak the truth. There is a woman in Alberta who is on trial for speaking out against her town painting a sodomite crosswalk in her town. Some people think her opposition might cause distress to others. No thought that the promotion of sodomy would cause distress for born again Christians and be an abomination to God. That does not matter. Humanism puts man’s thoughts ahead of what God says.
I hope that woman wins her case. Too few people are willing to speak up on these important issues. The “live and let live” attitude stinks. Our tax dollars should not be used to promote wickedness.
In verse 32 we see that the lips of the righteous know what is acceptable. We do not need the government dictating what is acceptable speech. They don’t have a clue what that is. They promoted the wuhan virus and then lied by telling all to get the poison shots. The Allison inquiry has been exposing the lies that revolved around that whole period. There are people who are still suffering because they chose to believe the lies of the government. There are doctors who cannot practise because they knew better than accept the dictates of a wicked system. We have a shortage of doctors and nurses and part of that is due to those who have been fired for not accepting the lies and others were incapacitated by taking the poison shots.
The righteous know what is acceptable. They know the Lord and they believe His Word. The mouth of the wicked speaks perverse things. That is why we cannot believe our politicians. That is why you should not listen to the Catholic priests or the pope. Nor should you listen to the United church and many other false religions. It is a shame that so many people will accept perverse talk, but they reject the truth.
Jesus faced the same problem. The Old Testament prophets like Jeremiah had the same problem. The apostles also had to deal with this. It is nothing new. God will take care of this. True saints will speak the truth and be a blessing to others.
Be sure you know the Lord and are trusting in His wisdom. If you are, you can speak wisdom to the lost around you. Don’t be intimidated by the froward mouth. Trust God and press on for Him.
