Jesus Christ Is The Same

Jesus Christ Is The Same

Hebrews 1:9  Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10  And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11  They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12  And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
13  But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
14  Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

God loves righteousness. God’s children should love righteousness as well. From time to time I get links sent to me where the speakers cannot keep their mouths out of the gutter or they spout completely unbiblical ideas. I believe we can get the facts from people who still have some fear of God in their lives and can speak without proving they are living in a dumpster. God loves righteousness and He hates iniquity. That should be the fact for every born again Christian.

Psalm 119:104  Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

True Christians can talk and they can learn without diving into the dumpster for our information. Because Jesus Christ loves righteousness, God has anointed Him with the oil of gladness. Jesus Christ was anointed as Messiah while still on earth. Hebrews 12 tells us that Jesus went to the cross despising the shame and had the joy of knowing that His sacrifice would make it possible for mankind to be saved. He is today seated on the right hand of His Father in glory. He is the mediator between God and man.
In verse 10 we are given further evidence of the greatness of the Lord. The Lord Jesus Christ laid the foundation of the earth. The foundation cannot be changed. The evolutionists can holler and scream all they want. They can waste time and money and energy sending spacecrafts out to try to discover the origins of all things. They are fools. They will never change the origins of the world. The immoral people can try all they want to change God’s laws and they will never succeed. Even though we are seeing a heightened push for a sodomite agenda that has the weight of our government behind it, that will never change the fact that a boy is born as a boy and a girl is born as a girl. Ungodly teachers and doctors can counsel people to change their gender and yet they will never succeed in changing the origins of each individual. What they can do is greatly harm the people they are experimenting on. They will drive some of them to suicide and others to drugs and alcohol. In spite of their wicked deeds, by the grace of God some of them might even be broken by the Lord and saved.
The heavens that we see are the work of the Lord’s hands. We see the various cloud formations and we see the birds soaring at different heights and the butterflies and all the other creatures that play around in the sky and then we look up and see the sun and the moon and the stars and we can see the handiwork of the Lord. Man has to choose to believe the lie of evolution and he has to reject the work of God in His conscience in order to believe that lie. The facts are so obvious.
In verse 11 we are reminded that there is a day coming when this earth and the heavens we see will perish. God will destroy them by fire.

II Peter 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11  Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

The bottom line is that the Lord never changes. We need to know this important fact.

Hebrews 13:8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

In verse 12 we see again that the things that God has made, will be folded up and changed. God does not worship His creation. Too many people worship the creation rather than the Creator. The world has gone through many changes over the past 6,000 years since Creation. The flood of Noah’s day changed things drastically. Just in the past few months, the topography of parts of B.C. changed. Things have changed in Kentucky and some of the other southern states. There have been many changes that have taken place. There will still be many changes yet.
Truth is not something that can be isolated from God. God is truth. Jesus Christ is truth. Therefore truth will never change.
The reason truth will never change is because God will never grow old and senile. Jesus Christ will never grow old and senile. He lived on this earth to be about 33 1/2 years old. That was His physical body that grew from conception to the time of His ascension. His deity will never grow older. He has always known everything and He will always know everything. It is great to know this God and to serve Him. It is sad that so many finite individuals want to waste precious time trying to remake Jesus Christ into their own image. He is better than the angels. He is also better than you and I.
In verse 13 we are again given a question to demonstrate the contrast between Jesus Christ and the angels. Jesus Christ is seated on the right hand of His Father. There are angels around the Throne but they are not seated beside the Father. Jesus Christ is in the place of authority. There is a day coming when His enemies shall be His footstool. We have a Prime Minister in this country and a Premier in this province and we have doctors and police and we have preachers and many others who are the enemies of Jesus Christ. They hate Him. Their time is limited. We need to pray for them that their eyes might be opened to see just how foolish they are and that they might turn to the great God and to the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.
In verse 14 we see further that angels have an important duty to fulfill. They are ministering spirits. We do not understand all there is to that. We know the angels ministered unto Jesus when He was tempted by the devil. We know that an angel came to Peter in prison and released him and led him safely out of that prison. We know that Elijah’s servant was given a glimpse of the armies of God that were protecting them while the armies of man were seeking to destroy them. We know an angel stood in the path of Balaam as he sought to enrich himself at the hands of Balak. God dealt with Balaam, but He also gave him opportunity to see the wickedness that was in his heart. Balaam never took advantage of this and he was killed by God in battle.
We do not need to get like the Charismatics who distort every doctrine of the Bible. We simply need to acknowledge that God created the angels to fulfil an important work on this earth and they are still doing that today. What we need to know is that angels have their place, but that Jesus Christ has a greater place. It is much more important to be saved and know the peace of God in our hearts, than to exaggerate on the role of angels in our time. We will not answer to any angel. We will answer to the true God and to His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. That is what we need to think on and be sure we are walking with Him according to His Word.
