Genesis 10:8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
Well, Canada had the famed million person march yesterday, and we are still here today! As is usual, there were some arrests made. We don’t know yet who was arrested. We know that some of those that opposed “parental rights” wore face masks to disguise who they were. It is obvious they came to commit mischief and wanted to be able to get away with it.
The sad reality is that since the fall of man, there has not been much good news regarding the actions of man. The good news is that the merciful and gracious true God Who created all things and Who continues to make a way for man to know Him and serve Him is still on His throne.
In Genesis 10 God gave us some further detail regarding the descendants of Noah. We learn some things about the basic divisions of the human population. In the midst of that, we learn of a man named Nimrod. We see his impact on society. Just as we noted with the million person march, there was one man who started that movement. There were people who had protested the wicked sodomite agenda prior to that, but he was able to capture enough attention to organize this march. There is very little in the news regarding it today. The left wing media will not want to broadcast it because it was not as violent as they would have liked.
In our text we read that Nimrod began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was the kingpin at this time. He was going to show humanity how they should live. The sad reality is that he was able to convince many people to follow his rebellion.
In verse 9 we read that he was a mighty hunter before the LORD. He had a reputation of being that. As we have mentioned with the sodomite agenda, the right thing for God-fearing parents in this matter would be to pull their children out of the public school system permanently. It is not enough to just take them out for a couple of days and put them back in when the authorities manage to deceive them further. That march was supposed to be about “parental rights”. The Bible tells parents to raise their children. God does not give the state any children. All children are born to parents. That is God’s design.
The problem we are facing is that too many parents are living in a spiritual vacuum. They reject God and grope in the dark for some sense of direction. They cannot answer the lies being told that their child(ren) are confused as to whether they are male or female.
Nimrod shows us the root of the problem. Nimrod chose to be a mighty hunter before the LORD. He was not hunting for venison to eat. He was seeking to make a name for himself. He wanted to usurp God’s place in the world.
In chapter 11 we learn more of this man’s plans. He was able to convince many people to join him in building a tower that would reach to heaven. It was an insane plan, but lost people make insane decisions.
Nimrod had instilled a fictitious fear in the hearts of the people. He convinced them that it would be bad for them to be scattered across the earth. They needed a “one world system”. That is still the philosophy of many, today. The UN just had some special meetings where they were going to hammer out a plan to further unify all nations under their umbrella. They would take control of the medical issues. They would determine when there was grounds to declare a “pandemic”. They would set the standards for travel and living for all of humanity. There would be no recourse. The nations would submit their sovereignty to this unelected and evil body and that would be it. No discussion with the people of the nations. Just a few “leaders” would determine what was best for the “sheep”.
Our P.M. had just finished making unverified accusations against India. He claimed that the man at the centre of this matter was a Canadian citizen who was murdered by forces from India. Apparently the man in question was not a Canadian citizen. He was a terrorist who had tried to become a Canadian citizen but was turned down several times. Of course this “minor” detail did not matter to the media or to our P.M. It will be interesting to see how this event plays itself out in Canada and around the world.
We know that none of this is a surprise to God. God was well aware of Nimrod’s heart condition. He knew exactly how to keep the brakes on his wicked plans. Today, we have hundreds of different languages in the world due to the wickedness of Nimrod and his followers. It is much more difficult to communicate with different people now due to the language barrier. That judgment from God has slowed down the one world government goals of the devil and his followers. The world will never be united under the devil’s plots. They will make progress, but God will always show Himself to be in charge.
As we come to the end of Genesis 11 we once again see one man that God has His finger on. Abram was not forced to follow God. However, Abram was one who knew the true God and who could be directed as a child of God.
As the Bible declares: we are all sheep. It is important to be the sheep of God’s fold. Those who are part of His fold will be different. We have seen that up to this point and that will be the established fact throughout the Bible. It is also still the established fact across the world today. It is important for us to build our philosophy of life on the truth. When we do that, we can be a help to others who are attempting to develop a philosophy on sand. That philosophy will always shift and it will often collapse.
Those who are saved can be encouraged in trusting the true God. He is worthy of our trust. Those who are saved must build their lives upon the truth. True churches must teach the truth. True churches cannot set aside God’s truth for the sake of convenience.
