Isaiah 59:14  And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.

There is an interesting event that took place this week in Parliament that most people are likely not aware of. According to the political atmosphere in this country, most people do not pay much attention to what goes on in Parliament. Too many people trust the politicians without even knowing what they believe in.
This week the Conservatives put forward a motion titled Bill C311. (I am not a supporter of the Conservative party. They are just as corrupt as the rest of them). Bill C311 was designed to stiffen the penalties against anyone who would do violence to a woman that is pregnant. After debate, the politicians voted on this bill and it did not pass. The Liberals and others voted it down.
Some right wing media outlets have been reporting on this and stating how the bill has nothing to do with “abortion”. They are missing the point.
The reality is that “abortion”, the murder of unborn children, is violence against women and against the baby that is being murdered. Thus, without admitting to it, this bill could in effect address the murder of unborn children. The Liberals and others understood this and thus they voted against the bill.
It is important to be awake and understand what is actually going on. Instead of just listening to news outlets, whether left wing or right wing, Christians need to understand what is actually happening. We have addressed the matter of the murder of the unborn in the past. Calling it the murder of the unborn does not sound very nice and the word “abortion” sounds much more dignified.
People can talk about abortion in a friendly conversation that will not disturb people too much. When the word “murder” is mentioned, it will describes what is actually happening and that is offensive to many. In Alberta, they recently passed a law that any material that is distributed exposing the truth about the murder of unborn children, has to be in a sealed envelope and the information regarding who is sending out the material also needs to be on the outside of the envelope.
The governments are always looking for a way to criminalize the truth. The government wants to be able to trace where their opposition is and then they work on a way to target that opposition. Most people are intimidated by this threat. No fair minded person wants to spend time in jail. No fair minded person wants to lose their job because they hold to a position that is not accepted by the general population. However, those who are saved must understand that every true position they will hold will be against the general population. Here are just some of the verses that prove this as fact.

Psalms 82:2-5 
2  How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
3  Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
4  Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
5  They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

Zephaniah 3:1-3 
1  Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city!
2  She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.
3  Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.

God has called on His children to be salt and light in this wicked world. Enoch was such a man in Genesis 5. Daniel and his three friends were that in their years in captivity in Babylon. Jeremiah was that in his years as a true prophet in Judah. Jesus Christ is declared to be the “Light of the World”. The apostles were that in their lifetime, after Acts 2.
We are heading toward a severe judgment from God, known as the Tribulation time. The Christians alive at that time will be removed from this earth. The dead New Testament saints will also be removed at that time. This is known as the first resurrection. There will be more added to this resurrection prior to the great white throne judgment. There will be a second resurrection at the end of the millennium when the great white throne judgment is set up. Those involved in the first resurrection will all find their home in heaven. Those who are part of the second resurrection will find their place in the lake of fire.
True love cares more for the souls of others, than for the comforts and luxuries of personal life. True love comes from God. Those who are truly born again are given this true love at the new birth. That true love needs to be cultivated through faithful Bible reading and Bible study. The local church is of great importance in this necessary work.
Those who are saved today need to take their direction from the true God that saved them. We have been given the Word of God. Let us read it and follow it so that we can help others to see the importance of knowing the truth. There is a spiritual rest for those who are saved. That rest involves knowing we are forgiven and have eternal life. That rest also requires us to serve the true God who granted us this rest.
Physical rest will come when we reach heaven. Until then, there is much work to be done as we serve the true God in a wicked and dying world. Those who are saved can be effective in helping others to turn to God and be saved. God’s Word is true and It is our hope and authority.
