Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Christians have a security the world can only wish for. Those who trust in our P.M. are not very intelligent individuals. Those who trust in our political system are in the same position. You cannot trust our politicians with anything except that they will cheat us any time they can.
God can be trusted. He is able to keep every true child of God from falling. Christians will sin. When a Christian sins it is because he or she chose not to trust in God.
Our P.M. talked of the importance of trust. He is quite the man to talk about trust. The man who invests his money anywhere except in Canada. The one who is making deals with countries like China, rather than with the U.S. No, he is not trustworthy. However, God can be trusted.
Those who put their trust in Him are assured of eternal life. They are also assured of receiving the power to be called the sons of God. The power is there to help the true child of God to say no to temptation and yes to God. God is able to keep His child from falling.
He is also able to present His child faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
It is important to know the true God. Don’t settle for the imaginary god of the secular religions. That god is weak. He is a creation of the imagination of men. There are many “flavours” of this false god. Those who want to follow that path, can choose their god and they can change what they believe about their god on a whim.
I would rather believe in the true God, the Creator of heaven and earth. The One Who provides salvation for lost sinners and grants those who come to Him in repentance, eternal life through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 12 tells us that Jesus was willing to go to the cross and endure the shame because of the joy that was set before Him. He knew that His death and His shed blood would make it possible for many to be saved. His offer of salvation is made to all people. It is only applicable for those who trust in Him to save them.
We see in verse 25 that there is only one wise God our Saviour. We see again the importance of belief in the Godhead. Jesus Christ is the second person of the Godhead. He is called God our Saviour here. He is all powerful and He can save those who come to God in repentance. Jesus Christ demonstrated His power over the devil when He went to the cross, and died there and shed His blood there. He was buried and three days later He rose again. He proved He was alive by appearing to many people after His resurrection.
He is wise. He knows what every person needs and He knows how to keep every saved person from falling. He is worthy of glory and majesty. Rather than bowing before ungodly human leaders, we should bow before the true God.
There are people who will give great attention to ungodly leaders, but they have no time for God. Those who are saved, need to be reminded of the importance of acknowledging the greatness of their God and Saviour. The world needs to be reminded of the importance of knowing the true God.
He is also worthy of dominion and power. The world belongs to God. The god of this world is seeking to have dominion over the world. He has great influence over the majority of the population. However, he is limited in what he can do with mankind.
God our Saviour has all power. He demonstrated that after His resurrection. Prior to His resurrection, He limited His glory and power. He still had much greater power than anyone else. It took great power to lay down His life, rather than fight for His life. He did not need to fight for His life. He knew that He would rise again of His own accord. He is seated on the right had of His Father in glory now, interceding for those who come to God by faith.
This benediction is of God our Saviour both now and ever. God never loses His place of glory. Jesus set aside His glory for a season. However, He never lost it. He has it all now and those who are saved will meet Him and be with Him for all eternity.
Amen settles the matter. God is firm and trustworthy as is His Word. Everything that Jude wrote is one hundred percent trustworthy. The warnings are not idle chatter. The hope is not wishful thinking. It is real and those who are saved know that. We need to be reminded of the hope we have. We need to be reminded of the importance of the “faith once delivered unto the saints.”
Hopefully, each person reading this is trusting in that faith. Don’t be deceived into following the ungodly. It will not help you.
