Proverbs 10:7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
God created man with the ability to remember things. There are certain things that people try to forget as well. Sometimes they are not that successful at doing that. That is what causes people to get into things that are harmful to their health and also sinful.
God tells us that the memory of the just is blessed. God recorded some history of Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, etc. In the New Testament He recorded some of the history of some of the apostles. Paul seems to have been mentioned the most of any of them.
It is a blessing to be able to look back at the testimony of good men like Paul.
God has also given us some good men in recent history. We can learn from men who chose to live for God and take a strong stand for truth. Sometimes these men are not appreciated until after they have died. Of course no man should ever be a substitute for the Lord Jesus Christ. Every human being will be flawed in certain ways. However, it is good to be able to learn good things from others.
In contrast, the name of the wicked shall fall. The Bible mentions men like Nimrod, and Balaam and Jezebel and Ahab as well as Judas and Herod and Pilate. Those people all had opportunity to know the truth. They chose to remain wicked. They will have that regret for all eternity as they face eternal torment.
In verse 8 we are reminded that the wise in heart will receive commandments. One of the protests of the New Evangelical crowd is against God’s laws. If anyone talks about sins that saints do not do, they are labelled as a legalist. Those who use that term do not even know what it means. God has many laws for His saints. His laws are good.
I John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
The prating fool shall fall. The word “prating” refers to the lips. The reference is to the fool being a mouthy person. He speaks too much and he speaks with disrespect. Journalists can be prating fools. They like to get the attention of the person they are interviewing. Some of them have honed the art of being rude and obnoxious. Of course this type of person does not take kindly to commandments. They want to be in charge and they want to give the commandments, not receive them.
In verse 9 we see the importance of walking uprightly. If you want to make every step count, you need to know the Lord. Jesus Christ knew where He was going every step of the way. The apostle Paul was led by God in his travels. If he chose a route, he always allowed God to change that so that he would not be wasting time.
Ephesians 5:15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
The person who perverts his way will be known as such. It is a shame that the media keeps broadcasting the lies of our P.M. He is a known liar. Yet the media portrays him as such a wise man. He is a fool who has chosen the path of destruction. Canada has the government it deserves. There is nothing better on the horizon. We are doomed to failure because the money is on the dumbo.
I saw a clip of the President of the U.S. landing in Ireland. The protocol involved in that is amazing. Five different aircraft were needed to fly his vehicles to that destination. The pomp involved in that meeting is quite something. Apparently the main reason for this trip is for a famous Irish golf tournament. The amount of taxpayer dollars that are wasted for such foolishness. Of course there will be some “high level” talks taking place as well. Some of his family are there with him as well. He is certainly making a name for himself and his family. Will it be known in heaven? Not unless he repents and is saved.
In the book of Acts, the apostle Paul had a scheduled meeting with the king and queen. They came in with pomp and ceremony. That was not the case with Paul. However, Paul had the important message. The king knew it was important, but he rejected it. He is suffering in hell today because of his arrogance.
I understand today will be the sodomite parade in Steinbach. Steinbach used to be considered a respectable place that was noted as a God-honouring place. It did have some good standards at one time. It has fallen apart now. Yes, they make money there. Money cannot save. Even our premier will be at that wicked event. I hope there will be some godly man/men who will get into their pulpits tomorrow and remind people that there is a God in heaven Who has decreed truth. We need to know Him and glorify Him. We do not need to take a back seat to the wickedness that is so prominent.
We need to walk uprightly. That is the way of blessing. Don’t worry about public opinion. Serve the Lord and be a blessing!
