We Need A Good King

Proverbs 16:10  A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.
11  A just weight and balance are the LORD’S: all the weights of the bag are his work.
12  It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.

It is important to have a godly king. We do not have a king in Canada. However, Canada is under the king of England. We know that the king of England is not a God-fearing man. In the past he was very interested in New Age philosophy. Currently he has demonstrated an unhealthy relationship with Islam. He is supposed to be the head of the Church of England. That church has never been a true church. It was founded to satisfy King Henry VIII in order for him to try to satisfy his lust for women.
A true church has Jesus Christ as Its’ Head. That has never been true of the Church of England.
In the early days of king Solomon he pronounced just sentences. He knew how to handle the two harlots with one dead baby and one living baby. He soon lost his wisdom because he chose many strange women as his wives.
The Bible is the Word of God. There are often deeper meanings than a superficial read will give. There is a king coming — the King of the Jews, Who will always speak divine words. His mouth will never transgress in judgment.
The Jews hated it that Pilate had put a superscription above Jesus’ cross: “King of the Jews”. Pilate refused to change what he had put up there.
Jesus offers Himself as the Saviour of mankind. Those who turn to God in repentance and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, need to recognize Him as Lord of their lives. The thief on the cross certainly did. In Matthew 7 Jesus warned of those who would pretend to have Jesus as Lord, but they actually did not believe in Him, nor submit to Him.
In verse 11 we are reminded of the importance of honesty in our dealings. Our government just passed its’ latest budget. There is so much deception in the budget. We can be guaranteed that the deficit will increase. We can be guaranteed that the interest costs alone on the debt will be higher than the entire health care budget for a year. We are continuing to plummet into the pit of no return. There is no way we will ever come out of that debt burden. Many will lose all their investments and the country could well be taken over for pennies on the dollar.
In our text we see again that God is looking beyond human government. The LORD has just weights and balances. All the weights used on His scale of justice are completely accurate. Scales made by human beings need to be calibrated from time to time. Dirt and dust can get in there and make them inaccurate. Digital scales are also not infallible.
In verse 12 we see again that God hates wicked kings. Earthly kings get a bloated view of themselves. That has happened to our P.M. He does not consult with very many Canadians. He consults with people on a globalist scale. He is in favour of an international government where a few unelected officials will tell the paupers how to live. He assumes he is one of the elites.
As we have mentioned before, he will meet the Just King one day. He is not ready for that meeting. He will not have anyone standing by his side when he meets Him. He can publish a budget and make it into a neat looking book, but that will not help him in the end.
The only Book that matters is the Word of God. He has no use for that Book. His name is not written in the Book of Life. Unless he gets saved, Jesus will open the books and Mr. Carney’s name will be there with a list of the times he has rejected God’s offer of salvation. His boasting and conniving will all be there. He will be ashamed of his record, but it will be too late. His sentence will be pronounced by the Just King, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will be cast into the lake of fire along with millions of others. He will not recognize anyone there because he will be so consumed with his own torment.
God warns us of these facts. It is wise to listen to Him.
