Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
I believe those receiving these texts were aware of the fact that I was going to have hip replacement surgery. That surgery took place on November 4th around noon. I came through that surgery successfully and am now at home recovering from that. It will take some time to get going properly. Right now it is a challenge to get around. Patience is important. I am thankful that I know the Lord and He will see me through this. It is important for me to trust Him to guide me through this. I am also thankful for a good wife who loves the Lord and me.
This past Tuesday revealed the darkness of the U.S. The Democrats won both the congress and the senate. Interestingly in Michigan a muslim man was elected to the senate. He did not hide who he was. He was such a bad candidate that the Democrat from that region chose to support the Republican candidate for the senate.
No born again Christian would ever vote for a Muslim to hold any position of power. We have mentioned the nature of Islam before. They are taught that lying is acceptable if it will advance their cause. Islam is evil to the core. It needs to be rejected by non-Muslims. Our government is defending Islam but turning its back on Jews. They have invented the term Islamophobia.
Islam also has a strong foothold in Minnesota. Ilhan Omar is a rep in Congress from that state and she is a Muslim who married her brother to advance her cause. She has run in politics under a fraudulent name. She is also one of the players in the massive fraud that has plagued Minnesota. Yet she was re-elected.
A total of 51 Muslims ran for office in the U.S.; 36 won in the election. The governor of Texas’ top donor in his bid for reelection was a Pakistani Muslim. He lost the election. Democrats do not vote for a Republican and he was a RINO. Texas is the fastest growing Muslim population in the U.S. with the largest number of new mosques.
In Texas a Democrat who publicly stated that God in non-binary, was elected to the Texas senate.
These are just a few of the completely unworthy people who won governing seats, but have no business running anything.
There is no good reason to even consider such people for political office. In Manitoba, the Conservative party was foolish enough to choose a muslim as its leader. Thankfully he recently resigned that position because of some party infighting. His being their leader made it impossible for any true Christian to vote for that party.
In our text God pronounces a blessing on the nation whose God is the LORD. That blessing does not rest upon the U.S. or Canada. Neither nation wants to recognize the true God. The God of the president of the U.S. is not the God of the Bible. The new governor of Florida claims to believe in God and Jesus Christ. The music that was used to bring him out for his victory speech was anything but godly music.
Most people do not read their Bibles and they have no discernment. They take a person at their word unless they are a true Christian. We should not be surprised by that.
The Pharisees were false teachers. They hated God and they hated Jesus. Due to that, they also hated the people. They only cared about getting rich and keeping power.
Their hatred for Jesus grew over the three and a half years He ministered publicly. They wrongly assumed they were pleasing God in having Jesus crucified. They made up a lie to try to explain away His resurrection. In the book of Acts, they continued their attacks against God’s people. In Acts 9 we see that Saul thought he was serving God in going after the people of “this way”. Later those people were called Christians.
Saul was converted in chapter 9 and chosen by God to be the replacement for Judas, who had committed suicide. He was not a true apostle. A true apostle would never commit suicide. After Paul’s conversion he became a bold man for Christ. He suffered much for his love of God. He was eventually murdered.
The Pharisees tried to silence the apostles but in Acts 4 we see that Peter and John refused to be silenced. After Acts 9, the apostle Paul refused to be silenced as well.
You notice in our verse that people need to be chosen as God’s inheritance. God wants all to be saved. However, only those who will humble themselves in repentance and be saved, will be His children.
Right now, there is no nation that has chosen God as their LORD. We do know from I Peter 2:
I Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
True saints do not cower in a corner and become silent. They cannot do that. The love of God that is in them, motivates them to speak up with the Truth.
In this late hour, are you a true child of God? Do you know Him as your God and Saviour? That is very important. If you lack assurance of salvation, it is likely you are not saved. If you are saved, you are attending a compromised church that is not teaching you the truth. God’s Word tells us we can know we are saved if we have turned to God in repentance and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.
Of course there are many who have blocked the Truth out of their minds and they have convinced themselves that wrong is right. Be sure to take God’s Word as your authority.
