God Alone Is Wisdom

God Alone Is Wisdom

I Corinthians 1:18  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19  For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20  Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21  For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22  For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23  But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24  But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25  Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

In verse 20 God directed Paul to ask where the wise are. We certainly cannot look to our P.M. for wisdom. All he cares about is “climate change”. He insists that he needs to raise taxes to slow down the increase in carbon emissions. He does not care about the murder of unborn children or the promotion of sodomy. The leader of the opposition is no different. He talks about the carbon tax, but he also believes that man is causing climate change due to his behaviour.
Yesterday we talked about the government approved murder of people who have medical problems and even mental problems. Today there is a headline that the police in Toronto arrested a man for “allegedly” selling a chemical used to commit suicide. The government does not care that people want to die. They just want to be in charge of how they are killed. No wisdom there. The government assumes they are gods and they have the wisdom to discern who should live and who should not.
We cannot look at the Catholics for wisdom. They do not know the true God and they promote the worship of idols. Most other religions have their false doctrines as well. There are a few churches that still hold to the truth. God has not failed man. Man is increasingly rejecting the true God.
God shows us that we need wisdom, and that He is the only source of wisdom. If you walk into a book store there may be a few King James Bibles there, but other than that, there is little that a person could read and learn the truth. Even biographies are tainted by the opinions of those who write them. I remember years ago we had a set of Britannica Encyclopedias. They were an older set. For convenience, I bought a digital Encyclopedia. As I looked up some things on that one, I found the information way different than that of the older Encyclopedia set. It was not that they had made some new discoveries. It was that they had changed the information to suit the current agenda. I remember learning things in history class in school that has been completely changed now to accommodate the “more enlightened” view of things. Most religious people use one of the many perversions on the market as the basis of their religious beliefs. After all it says “Holy Bible” on it and it must be true. The fact that they say different things in the same verse, does not matter to most. In fact they have taken to attacking the King James Version, the only true Version for the English speaking world. The devil is very subtle.
Surely you can trust the philosophers of today! God says we cannot. Again, if we pay attention to what is being disputed today, we know it is nonsense. We already talked about “climate change”. We have also talked about the Wuhan virus in the past. We have talked about the poison shots they have been promoting. There is the “great reset” that is designed to make us all poor by the year 2030. The “elites” are pushing toward that target. We will see if God allows them to meet it.
God knows that without Him there is no wisdom.
The apostle Paul disputed with the men of Athens. They had ideas, but those ideas were worthless in comparison to the truth. He noted that they were “too superstitious”. Some of the corrupt translations change the word “superstitious” because they do not want to be accused of using superstition themselves. Most modern religions are built on superstition. They do not have the facts and they do not care about the facts.
Paul was directed to write this letter to the saints at Corinth. Corinth was an idolatrous city. It was situated in a region that was idolatrous. The saints in that city were very carnal. They were slow learners and wanted to hang on to some of their false teachings from their past.
God directed Paul to address this problem. A true child of God cannot hang on to the false teachings of their past. The new birth causes a person to be different in nature. Paul wrote that very clearly in II Corinthians 5. We do not want to address that today, but it is still in the Bible. It is still God’s standard of truth.
God is wise. He knows that sin cannot reign in our mortal bodies, if we are saved. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses the true saint of sin. It gives the recipient a new nature. There is a different Spirit in the true child of God. The Holy Spirit indwells every true child of God. The Holy Spirit speaks of the Lord Jesus Christ. We need to remember that He is the HOLY Spirit. He will never lead a true child of God into sin. He cannot live with sin in our lives. He will convict the true child of God of any sin in their life. He will not be content until that sin is confessed and forsaken. That is due to the love of God that is shed abroad in our hearts.
The devil is a liar and part of that lie is to try to convince the lost sinner that he is not a lost sinner. He is quite successful in doing that. We can see that all around us. It is important for those who are saved to operate under the love of God. True love seeks to help another person to also know the true love of God. It is different than what Job’s friends portrayed. They spouted off some ideas, but they were false. Their god was not the God of the Bible. God shows us that very clearly in that Book.
It is not wrong to confront a wayward saint. It is important to do so based on truth, not on lies.
Paul was led to address the shallowness of the faith of the saints in Corinth. They needed to get into the truth and cast off the lies they had been taught prior to salvation. Paul was not just “opinionated”. He was directed by God to write what he wrote. It is God’s inspired Word.
Let us judge the “wisdom” we have based on God’s Word. If it is true wisdom, then hold to it. If it is secular wisdom parading itself as though it were true wisdom, get rid of it if you are saved. If you are lost, God is showing you that what you have is a facade. You know that. The devil is trying to keep you in his clutches, but God is greater than the devil.
Find a true church and go and talk to the pastor. Sit down with him and let him show you the truth from God’s Word. God has blessed me with the opportunity to do this with some of my neighbours of late. I also do that in our church every time I preach. It is a blessing to be able to proclaim the truth and help people to be able to see what God actually says.
Jesus prayed:

John 17:17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
