Psalm 30:1 A Psalm and Song at the dedication of the house of David. I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
Today is marked on our calendars as Remembrance Day. According to historians, Remembrance Day began as “Armistice Day” and it was established with an agreement signed between Germany and the Allied Forces in Paris on Monday, November 11, 1918 at 0500 hours. The ceasefire of that time went into effect at 1100 hours of that same day. It was identified as taking place on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
The first Armistice Day was held in 1919. On November the 6th, in the House of Commons in Canada, the then acting Prime Minister of Canada, Sir George Foster read a message from King George V that was addressed “to all the peoples of the Empire.”
In 1931, Armistice Day was changed to Remembrance Day. Historians tell us that a man named Alan Neill, Member of Parliament for Comox-Alberni, introduced a bill to observe Armistice Day only on November 11. The bill which was passed in the House of Commons also changed the name to “Remembrance Day”.
Not many years after this official recognition of the name change another major war broke out. This time one of the major players in the war was Germany, the country that was involved in establishing Armistice Day back in 1918. Over the next few years the world powers would join forces to defeat the German army and its allies. That war came to an end in the year 1945.
Historians tell us that on May 8, 1945 World War II came to an end in Europe. Germany had surrendered. That day became known as “Victory in Europe (V-E Day). Later that year, US President Harry S. Truman declared Japan’s surrender and the end of World War II. On September 2, 1945, the formal surrender documents were signed aboard the USS Missouri and marked the official day of victory over Japan and that day became known as “V-J Day” for Victory over Japan Day.
History states that over 400,000 Americans gave their lives to fight and win that war. Many more came back home wounded, some with limbs missing and many with their minds so wounded by the experiences they faced during those days of war, that they never recovered from them. Sadly many veterans chose to use liquor and cigarettes as a means to try to cope with the tragedies of the war. Even worse, the liberal and lost clergy that were supposed to give spiritual guidance to the soldiers were just as wicked as the soldiers. They offered no hope.
Then we come now to the events of the past 2 years culminating now in Cop26. World “leaders” have come together over the past 2 years to seriously plot a path to diminishing the population of the world. “Key” figures have stated for years that we must bring the population of the world down to five hundred million people. They must have read about the Pharaoh in the book of Exodus who observed the rising population of one nation, Israel, and decided he needed to do something to bring that population down. He failed because God was in charge. Our world has used the murder of unborn children for years to limit the growth of the population, but the elites have determined that this is not good enough.
Two years ago in Davos, it was agreed that the world needs to enact the “great reset”. Our P.M. has made this known to the world. One of the methods determined to be used for this plot was a virus that would spread across the world. News agencies and governments would all work together to create a panic across the world to bring the populations to their knees. I believe those who have been plotting this whole affair have been surprised at just how easy it has been for them to achieve much of their goals. I do not believe those 400,000+ Americans who gave their lives for freedom just a few short years ago would be marching in agreement with what is going on at this time.
Interestingly as part of the plot, we have Cop26. This is an event to which world “leaders” fired up their private jets and flew to Scotland for another godless summit. (None of those jets spewed out any carbon.) Reports say that Mr. Biden had an entourage of 85 vehicles to take him around while he was there. (None of those vehicles emitted any carbon either.) Yet we are told that we must bring the carbon emissions down across the world. China and Russia did not bother to attend this summit. Interestingly at Cop26, the virus that is supposed to be so deadly, was non-existent. There were no mask mandates, no social distancing requirements, except within the vehicles used, which were limited to 4 people in a vehicle. There were no mandates that all in attendance needed to have proof of receiving the shots. All was good.
However a small group of less than 10 people decided in our country that no one can enter the Parliament buildings unless they have proof of getting the shots and are willing to get as many jabs as the “experts” determine will be needed. At least that is the official position taken.
These are the people who we are supposed to trust to make wise decisions for our country. All those who chose to vote in the past election voted for this type of nonsense.
The Bible warns us that at the end of this age turmoil will be the standard.
II Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
The word translated as “perilous” has the idea of “reducing the strength, difficult and dangerous or by implication furious.”
We are there now. The reason we are there now is because we have ignored the words of God as recorded by the Psalmist in our opening verses. We do not recognize Who is in charge. Interestingly it is not just the world “leaders” and our own politicians who have been either willingly or ignorantly assisting in this world plot. Even professing Christians who have chosen to work behind the scenes are in agreement with this plot. Those who claim to be God’s people have forgotten Who God is. They have decided that it is more important to bow to the ungodly dictates of godless governments than to humbly submit to the God of Creation.
Psalm 29:3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.
4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
5 The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.
7 The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.
8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.
On this day, that the world has decided is a day of remembrance, those who are truly saved would be well advised to take some time to remember that the voice of the Lord is still powerful. His Word is still final and absolute. Everything that God declares either has already happened or will happen at the exact moment that He has determined it will happen. God’s timetable is much more certain than the dates we have mentioned in this devotional.
It should be rather obvious that our hope cannot be in man. Man has fallen so far now that he can no longer see the light. It is time for those who are declared to be the “light of the world”, to be that light. We still have the voice of God that needs to be declared. Rather than a moment of silence on this day, we need hours of prayer and hours of declaration of God’s truth to all we meet on this day and every day.
Rather than laying a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier, we need to shout in praise of the risen Saviour! This and every day needs to be a day of worship and exaltation of the King of kings and Lord of lords.
